We are seeking an experienced leader to head the Education division at The Gottman Institute. This is a senior leadership role responsible for a substantial portion of our revenue-generating activities. The successful candidate will also be involved in hands-on curriculum development and instructional content creation.

ABOUT YOU

You probably have a decade or more of work experience, and you’ve spent most of that time narrowing your focus to adult education or training. You may have worked in higher education, professional continuing education or corporate training. You might be a generalist but enjoy digging deep in areas that interest you—perhaps instructional design, learning technologies, or learning assessment. You enjoy simplifying processes and streamlining operations. You are both creative and analytical and are happiest when you get to balance time between the two.

You have a positive attitude and believe customers and colleagues generally have good intentions. You have strong technical skills and knowledge of adult learning theory and practice. You are comfortable with formal project management processes, but probably have adapted them to create your own good practices. As a leader, you focus on removing barriers for your team and serving them so they flourish. People want to be on your team. You’re independent and don’t need to be told what to do, yet you understand the value of seeking feedback and gathering information before making decisions that impact others.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Head of Education is a senior leader who owns the strategic vision and roadmap for sustaining and growing our education products, programs, and experiences. This role oversees our Couples, Professionals, and Online Learning departments. The Head of Education is responsible for the full lifecycle of curriculum, including design, development, production, implementation, review, and revision of courses and programs. They will create and revise processes that improve efficiency of operations and increase the quality of our education offerings.
